This is essentially an Australian genus with about 700 species
recorded. In fact the herbarium is currently considering a reclassification
to better divide them so don't be surprised at name changes
soon. There is a Eucalypt for almost every situation but it
is not possible to stock many as they are fast growing and soon
outgrow the container. The are in the main very adaptable trees.
They are selected for the attraction of their bark or for flowers
that are spectacular in size or colour. Colour and form can
only be guaranteed from grafted forms and the nursery stocks
some of the more reliable grafts.
