BORONIA

Common Name: Boronia

Family :Rutaceae

The genus Boronia is most endemic to Australia and includes some of the most desirable plants in our flora. Mostly, they are small, woody shrubs of less than 1m. The flowers have four petals, opening widely like a star. Some are bell-shaped. The foliage is generaly aromatic and in some the flowers are highly perfumed. They prefer shaded positions with good drainage, a sandy soil with a heavy mulch or leaf litter to keep the roots cool. They are also suitable for pot culture.
