This genus is mostly found in Australia
and consists of woody shrubs of variable height and habit. The
five-petalled flowers are similar to those of the Tea-trees
(Leptospermum) equally profuse but generally much smaller. It
is hardy in cultivation and a Baeckea is particularly welcome
for its summer flowering.
